Founded in 1884 and bestowed the Royal title in 1984 the shipyard continues to remain at the forefront of modern yacht construction. Complete with both alloy and composite fabrication facilities the combined companies of Royal Huisman Shipyard and Rondal provide a complete 'under the one roof' approach to custom yacht construction. Royal Huisman Shipyard has launched nearly 400 aluminum yachts. Specializing in high quality 'Alustar' aluminum, custom yachts between 80' and 300', both sail and power are produced. The shipyard's in-house engineering departments work closely with all major naval and styling architects to produce the infinite number of details found in custom yacht construction. The shipyard has gained a reputation for combining innovative engineering principles with traditional Dutch craftsmanship. The shipyard remains committed to utilizing recent investments in machinery and work facilities for the 340 strong workforce, offering clients the assurance that quality people have quality equipment with which to work. Current projects include the recently launched 131' Bill Dixon ketch ANTARES, a Castro 120' motor yacht, ARCADIA and the 105' Phillipe Briand designed high performance sloop GLISS. A 165' Dijkstra/Alden designed Schooner Meteor and a 188' Ketch, Ethereal from the design office of Ron Holland follow. In September of 2004 the world's largest sailing yacht was delivered. At 298' ATHENA represents the yards dedication to building high quality, innovative yachts. The Shipyard is conveniently located near Amsterdam's Schiphol Airport and several nearby private jetports.
