LLOYD'S - Maltese Cross Al SSC YACHT G6 LMC + MCA.

LEGEND
The Owners first sailing yacht - the 43m Perini ketch FelicitA am - provided an eight-year testing ground on which to hone his design requirements. Ownership of an interim 50M Perini (also Felicità west) also focused attention on the applicability of our more recent design changes while developing his "new Perini".
Above all else, Felicità west is a very personal yacht, designed and planned to cater for the Owner and his family's cruising requirements in the most intimate of detail. Amongst those criteria, however, the most conspicuous was the desire for size and sailing speed - cloaked in a more traditional profile. While Ron Holland catered to the former, Nuvolari Lenard styled the superstructure profile and interpreted his interior layout and styling requirements.
Although her 64m length, 600-plus tonne displacement and 500-plus GRT - with MCA Compliance - were not novelties for the Pedni Engineering Design team, the aluminium engineering design task was a challenge. Following countless design meetings, site meetings, man-hours and everyone's respective "engineering and artistic flair' the first 60+rn Perini is now producing the single most significant result - a smile of content on the Owner's face!
Space is not lacking - with ample side-decks protected by waste-high bulwarks amidships and comfortably broad spaces indoors subtly reinforcing the "ship-like" sensation. The three-zone outdoor living area layout provides ample opportunity for the 12 guests to congregate - or seek some peace and solitude. Indoors, the Main and Forward Saloons (where dining and bar areas complement each other) are separated by the half-deck wheelhouse amidships while four spacious guest cabins and a full-beam Owners stateroom afford comfortable retreats to privacy - and rest. Every last join" detail is the result of a constructive collaboration between Nuvolad Lenard and the Perini Interior Design team.
A unusual feature - for a Perini - is the transom door. With her counter stem, the engineering entailed both shell door and retracting deck section to produce a broad and welcoming landing to board the Yacht - as well as providing crew with a spacious lazarefte.
With the main and mizzen masts soaring some 60 and 51 metres respectively over the waterline and capable of carrying the 1,803m2 of working upwind boom-fuded sail area, Felicitc! west's sailing characteristics have proven Ron Holland's performance prediction to be accurate - both in light airs as well as stronger conditions. Suffice to say that the Yacht's 16 knot maximum speed under power has already been exceeded by a full knot under sail, despite Capt. Ledbefters relatively scant opportunity to refine his sailing technique so far.
